Jose Mourinho’s side suffered their ninth Premier League defeat of the season at the King Power Stadium, a result which leaves them just one point clear of the relegation zone.
And Costa gave further credence to claims that all is not well in the Chelsea camp with a gesture he made during the first-half of the match.
He put his hands together and rested his face on them, appearing to tell defenders that they had fallen asleep to allow Jamie Vardy to score the opening goal of the game.
His gesture didn’t impress Sky Sports pundit Jamie Carragher, who slammed the striker’s actions on Monday Night Football.
Critical: Diego Costa appeared to accuse his teammates of falling asleep
“There’s nothing worse than a player coming back and telling other people what they should be doing,” Carragher said.
“It’s not what he should be doing considering he’s been asleep all season.
“He’s done nothing for Chelsea compared to what he did last year.
Second season syndrome: Diego Costa has been woeful for Chelsea this term
“Don’t tell the defence what they should be doing.
“You sort yourself out at the other end of the pitch and take a leaf out of Jamie Vardy’s book.”
Costa has scored just four times this season. By this time last campaign he had already racked up 13 goals.
